New Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog, Weekly Deals and an Update

Hello!  I'm glad to be back in my Studio, albeit just blogging, not creating.  The upside to spending a couple of weeks visiting my out-of-state family? Priceless memories and fun.  The downside?  THE LAUNDRY.  We are also in the throes of soccer times three and prepping for the first day of school times three.  A lot to do housekeeping-wise, so it simply means that my fingers remain sadly ink-free (and will for a few more days).  We have more family visiting this weekend from out-of-state! Woot!

There are other videos that Stampin' Up! has produced in which a project is completed and the "expert" walks you through his/her process.  

Here's what I learned from Angie:

• Go from the lightest to darkest marker in the color set.
• Use a light touch with the marker.

From Teri, I learned that she:

• Fully color one petal or area at a time.
• Start with the lightest marker and then add the darkest to what would be the shaded area. Use the medium marker to blend them.

Studio Suggestions:

• Don't forget to use the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (132708) to avoid smearing your stamped image.
• You'll notice that the experts lined their work surfaces with Grid Paper (130148).

{Video Tutorial} Stampin' Up! Gift Card Enclosure Two Ways

Today's projects are made with Stampin' Up!'s new Gift Enclosures.  These Kraft card stock enclosures come 10 to a package and are already cut and scored to make gift-giving super-easy.  Watch the {video tutorial} below about a couple of quick, easy and fun ways to dress up these enclosures.

And now for the video...

Studio Suggestions:

• Tea Lace Paper Doilies (129399) quickly and easily decorate the enclosure's flaps.

• Gift enclosures can be folded shut by taking one flap and then folding each adjacent flap down and tucking the last flap into the first.  Quick and easy.  Ribbon is optional, as the enclosure stays closed on its own.

• Gift enclosures can be presented in an envelope, but beware of extra postage (check at the post office window to see if it's too thick for regular First Class Postage).

• The inside of the enclosure provides space to decorate and/or to write a message.  Pre-cut slits exist for standard gift cards or handmade coupons (car wash, a night of babysitting, dinner, etc).

• Using the largest non-scallop circle in the Circles Collection Framelits dies (130911), a circle can be cut (and then halved) for a quick cover of the flaps.  Simple trimming finishes out the detail.
