Take Care and a Little MOJO

This card was created for the Mojo Monday 248 and 365 CardsColor Scheme challenges.  I used my 2012-2013 Annual Catalog for my inspiration (page 90).

I used my Paper Trimmer to make skinny strands of card stock.  I crumpled them up and used Glue Dots to adhere them down (plus the piece with the eggs helps to hold it down).
I ran the pieces of Whisper White and Pink Pirouette through the Big Shot using my Labels Collection Framelits.

My Stamp-A-Ma-Jig helps me to accurately place my nest upon the branch.  I also used a sticky note (cut roughly in the shape of the nest) to keep the branch from running through my image of the nest (AKA “masking”).
A snippet of Linen Thread helps to finish off the branch.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps:  Take Care set (W126310, C126312)

Papers: Pink Pirouette (111351), Soft Suede (115318), Crumb Cake (120953), Sahara Sand (121043) and Whisper White (100730) card stocks

Inks: Pink Pirouette (127956), Soft Suede (126978), Crumb Cake (126975), Sahara Sand (126976)

Cheers to You! Water Bottle Tag

Welcome to the Studio!  This project was created for a friend who is undergoing medical treatment that requires her to increase her consumption of water.  It's a reusable water bottle and I've included some drink mixes.  I hope this makes the treatment easier for her -- she's a gem and I'm sad that she's burdened with this...

The body of the card was made with Pink Pirouette.  The other color is Baja Breeze.  These are the colors featured this week in the Dynamic Duos Challenge #11.  This card is also based upon the sketch for the 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday challenge.

I stamped the glass and straw in Baja Breeze and then stamped the contents of the glass a second time on another piece of Whisper White (this time in Pink Pirouette), used my Paper Snips to cut it out and mounted it with Stampin' Dimensionals to make it pop.  The flagged ends of the Baja Breeze piece were achieved with a square punch (click *here* for a post including a quick video tutorial).
I also punched a circle of Baja Breeze with my 2 3/8-inch Scallop Circle punch to jazz up the spot where the neck of the water bottle is...  I punched a 1 3/4-inch Circle through the Pink Pirouette piece, placed the scalloped circle over it and punched again from behind (wasn't sure I'd have the hand-strength to punch two layers of card stock).
The drink pouches were placed in a "pocket" made from a Decorative Label punch, popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps:  Happy Hour (W126640, C126642)

Papers:  Baja Breeze (111352), Pink Pirouette (111351), and Whisper White (100730) card stocks

A Whole Lotta Punches "For the Birds" Cute Card Thursday

One of my new goodies from the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog is the set, For the Birds.  I love this sweet set and its simple line illustrations (I'm a sucker for feathered friends).

I used my Owl Builder punch to punch out this little heart in Summer Starfruit (a heart is part of the "thought bubble").  My Blender Pen and a bit of Summer Starfruit Classic ink fill in the bird with a bit of color...  The sweet heart DSP is from the Patio Party Designer Series Paper, whose color scheme is seen throughout this card.
My sentiment is inked with a Midnight Muse Stampin' Write Marker and then punched from the Whisper White using the Word Window punch.  I've mounted it on Primrose Petals cut with the Modern Label punch (one of my *FAVE* sentiment combos) and added a couple of Boho Blossoms in Summer Starfruit with a Midnight Muse center (from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack).  Whew!  Stampin' Dimensionals pop it up a bit.

I entered this sweet card in last week's 365 Cards Color Scheme Challenge and the Cute Card Thursday Challenge (following

Dynamic Duo Entry with Bling {Summer Silhouettes}

Happy Summer!  Here's my card for the Dynamic Duo Color Challenge for this week (I entered it in the 365 Super Sketchy Sunday sketch challenge last week, too).  I'm loving the new Summer Silhouettes set and I'm really happy with how this turned out...
I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the background for the Old Olive piece.  I love that stamp!
To create two "colors" of blossoms, but still remain within in the parameters of the Dynamic Duos challenge, I stamped off the Rich Razzleberry once on scratch paper before stamping the large bloom.
Rhinestones Basic Jewels add a fun center to my bloom and a classy touch to the bottom corner of the pattern...

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps:  Summer Silhouettes

Papers:  Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand, Whisper White

Ink:  Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Classics

Accessories:  Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Rhinestones Basic Jewels, Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon

Not Quite {50} Shades of Blue -- Build a Blossom

Please forgive the title...  When I saw the 365 Cards Challenge, "A Little Shady," I was immediately reminded of that title.  No Grey here -- just shades of Pacific Point.  Since I stuck with just Crumb Cake and Pacific Point (Whisper White doesn't "count," in this case), I entered this card in last week's Dynamic Duos challenge, too.
This card is one of my favorites that I made last weekend.  I used the Build a Blossom set and the Blossom Petals Builder punch.  To make the different shades of the leaves, I simply "stamped off" (AKA stamped on scratch paper first) and then stamped on the Whisper White card stock.  Double (and even triple) your supplies!  The Pacific Point card stock (punched with the Blossom Petals Builder) gives another dimension of color).

The Pacific Point piece behind the blossom was run through my Big Shot using the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions embossing folder.
One of my *favorite* sets is the Petite Pairs sentiment set, which includes sentiments broken into two messages (many can be used separately, tho), so that one can add a second thought to the inside of the card.
Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps:  Build a Blossom (W121923, C121994), Petite Pairs (W122495, C122497)

Papers:  Crumb Cake (120953), Pacific Point (111350) and Whisper White card stocks

Inks:  Pacific Point Classic (126951)

Accessories:  Big Shot (113439), Elegant Lines folder (119277), Modern Label punch (119849), Word Window (119857), Blossom Petals Builder punch (121808), Large Pearl Basic Jewels (125577), Linen Thread (104199), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Misc. button

Happy Birthday, USA!

Wishing everyone a happy, fun and safe July 4th.  Here's a card made for last week's Super Sketchy Sunday Challenge at 365 Cards and Cute Card Thursday's Challenge (Patriotic 223).

These were technically made for my daughter's All-Star softball coaches.  Her colors are red, white and blue...  Goooooo, Knock-Out!

I used a scrap of Night of Navy, trimmed at the top with my Paper Trimmer, which I'd been holding on to (the polka dots are from retired Backgrounds I Texturz Plates).  I ran the red, white and blue strips through my Big Shot, too, using a different embossing folder for each.
The super-cute Stitched Grosgrain finishes off the top and the punch at the tip is from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.
The sentiment is from the new set, Itty Bitty Banners ( inked in Pacific Point) and I used my Bitty Banners Framelits to cut it out.  The "Thank You" piece is adhered to the Modern Label punch.

Stampin' up! Supplies:

Stamps:  Itty Bitty Banners (W126255, C126257)

Papers:  Crumb Cake (120953), Night of Navy (100867), Real Red (102482), Pacific Point (111350) and Whisper White (100730) card stocks

Here Comes Summer!

This is one of my favorite cards!  I'll be recreating this in a variety of colors, to be sure...

I inked the images using the Mixed Bunch set, then easily punched them out using the Blossom punch.  To make things more interesting, I also punched images out using my circle punches (1-inch, 1-1-1/4 inch and Itty Bitty Shapes Pack).
For added texture, I ran my piece of Island Indigo through my Big Shot, using the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
Finally, to class it up, I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the flowers and embossed background.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps:  Mixed Bunch (W125535, C125537)

Papers:  Baja Breeze (111352), Rich Razzleberry (115316), Island Indigo (122923), Whisper White (100730)

A {Rainy} Summer(?) Weekend in the Studio

I wish we could have sent some of our Seattle rain home to folks in Colorado.  My heart breaks for those families (and people fighting fires all over the US) and I'm nervous, considering how much summer is left!

Here's what I played with in the Studio this weekend:

A note to say "Thank You!" to my daughter's All-Star softball coaches:
Two Christmas cards in summer?  Yup...
Another "Thank you!" note -- this time for swim coaches...
A wedding card:
Another Mojo Monday entry which I made and forgot to enter on-time (*again*)...

And probably my favorite:
Stay tuned for deets on these projects...  I'll be blogging all week!
