{Video Tutorial} Watercolor Tulips in a Spring-y Shaped Card

Hello, Studio Visitors!  While spring has sprung, the April showers have returned to my neck of the woods.  We've got tulips and hyacinth blooming (and the raindrops on them are so pretty!).  The trees are finishing their bloom and leaves are starting to emerge.

This card was inspired by nature and the fine folks at the Colour Me Card Challenge, who put forth the challenge of using Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay.  I enjoyed making a shaped card, using my Labels Collection Framelits.  What a simple way to make fun, shaped cards! Click below to watch a tutorial outlining this simple process:

The Square Lattice TIEF added Easter basket-like texture to the Daffodil Delight piece and is mirrored by the Burlap Ribbon (also fed through my Big Shot with the Labels Collection Framelit).

This beautiful image comes from a single stamp in the Occasions Catalog called Blessed Easter.  It includes the sentiment, "Wishes for a Blessed Easter," but I want to use this card all spring long, so I omitted the sentiment in my inking.

I watercolored my blooms using the Aqua Painter and my Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay Classic Inks.  Since I was limited to those two colors, I had to lay down Daffodil Delight first in the stem and go over it with the Bermuda Bay to achieve something close to green.

Papers:  Bermuda Bay (131197), Daffodil Delight (119683) and Whisper White (100730) card stocks

Spring-y {Easter} Nest Card and Weekly Deals

Happy almost-Easter, Studio Visitors!  I had an egg-cellent time putting this card together.  I used my Pansy Punch for the nest (I sueded and distressed some layers).  The Bird Builder Punch gave me the branches with leaves and the Small Oval Punch was used to I create the eggs.

The Whisper White piece of card stock was fed through my Big Shot and cut using the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. To give it texture, I adhered it to the Pink Pirouette piece and fed them together through my Big Shot with the Woodgrain TIEF.

Crochet Trim adds the final, whimsical touch.  This card was entered in The Shabby Tea Room Challenge, for which we were given a color palette and asked to use flowers, lace and/or ribbon.

I really had fun with this project.  I think that the next time I make it, I'll use a variety of patterns and stamp the eggs before punching them out.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps:  None this time!

Papers:  So Saffron (131203), Pink Pirouette (111351), Wild Wasabi (108641), Crisp Cantaloupe (131298) and Melon Mambo (115320) Card Stocks

Inks:  Nope!

Artist's Flair:  Crochet Trim (118481), Woodgrain TIEF (127821), Deco Labels Collection Framelits (130102),  Big Shot (113439), Bird Builder Punch (117191), Pansy Punch (130698), Small Oval Punch (120908)

Spring-y Easter Card for a Mojo Monday Challenge!

Spring is here and Easter is one week away...  I created this sweet card for the Mojo Monday #340 challenge this week.  I have to say that this card is one of my favorite projects of late.

I used my 2013-15 In Colors Designer Paper Stack to guide my color scheme.  I used Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar.  The Coastal Cabana is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots TIEF.

I watercolored the sweet bunny with my Aqua Painter and the paint from the inside of my ink pad's lid.

Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim adds easy texture.  It's so easy to work with!

The sweet detail in Crisp Cantaloupe is the Boutique Detail, mounted on a small scalloped circle of Calypso Coral.

Hope you've had a taste of spring where you are.  We are due to see rain again on Monday night, but the trees are blooming, the tulips and daffodils are in their glory and I know that we're slowly bidding winter "Good-bye!"

Stampin' Up! Nature Walk for Easter...

Easter is upon us!  Here's an Easter Card I made for the "Super Sketchy Sunday" challenge at 365 Cards.I am so inspired by the sketches there!

I love the earthy feel of the eggs from the Nature Walk set...

I used my Scallop Edge Border punch to create the border along the Marina Mist and that always produces a slim scrap.  You can see I added it behind the Round Tab punch with "Happy Easter."

The Scallop Trim Border punch adds further interest...

I've been busy enjoying my kids' Spring Break and sewing the girls' Easter dresses.  I'll be posting the rest of the week's projects soon!

A Monday {Sneak Peek}...

These sweet little gnomes make for some fun all-purpose cards...
I *love* Easter and the sweet natural eggs from the Nature Walk set are "spot on!"
Just how many different ways will I find to use the Petite Pennants Builder Punch in this week's projects?
This Lace Ribbon Border Punch is such quick way to add "WOW!" to a project...  Wait for the post to see how I used it in the coordinating envelope...
There's that Petite Pennants Builder Punch *again*!

Kermie may think it's not easy being green, but o, how I love the Wild Wasabi!
This is my favorite card that I've made recently.  I'm sending it to my mum, who celebrates her birthday next week...  I've always called her "Mom," but between the fact that she's Canadian and this card highlights a cuppa tea, I thought "Mum" was more appropriate.  ;)

Spring Break is here!  Woot!
