"It's Close to Midnight..." Halloween Card for Mojo Monday Challenge

I've introduced my kiddos to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Glee's "Thriller/Heads Will Roll" mash-up.  Both songs are total dance parties in our house (and car).  The kiddos are not old enough to watch the video to "Thriller," but the song is just exciting enough...

As I created this project, "Thriller" lines ran through my head (as did "Monster Mash").  Love the versatile punch-worthy images in this set (which I *WON* at Convention this year in Utah).  The various elements work wonders with the Mojo Monday MOJO314 challenge.

I love Old Olive card stock sponged with Basic Black (or teamed with it in terms of card stock in this case).  I also love pairing them both with Pumpkin Pie.  The colors of this card shout (or is it "SCREAM") Halloween to me.

The Basic Gray circle (created using my Magnetic Platform and Circles Collection Framelits) was crinkled and inked with Old Olive Classic Ink.  Looks like a spooky moon to me...

Spindly Linen Thread reminds me of a spider's web here and I've added Dazzling Details to the spider on the subway art stamp.

...and who so ever shall be found, without the soul for getting down..."

Happy Birthday, Mom with Stampin' Up! Occasions Tea Shoppe

First of all, I want to wish my sweet mom a "Happy, happy birthday!"  Sending you hugs!!

This is the card I made for her birthday.  Mom and I love tea and all things British, so I knew this was the set for her!

I also entered this card a couple of weeks ago in a 365 Cards Challenge for stamping one's background.  You can see that I did that with the flower image from Tea Shoppe in both Regal Rose and Not Quite Navy.  That blossom is also stamped on the envelope (No Naked Envelopes!).
This sweet bow is made with the taffeta ribbon (I used my Paper Snips to trim around the tea cup and then I tied the ribbon around the handle).  You'll notice that I also ran the large piece of Not Quite Navy through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  It adds such a sophisticated texture to the project!  The big scalloped circle is Scallop Circle #2, a die that I used with my Big Shot, as well.
The sentiment was inked on Very Vanilla, using my Regal Rose and Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write Markers and punched using the Scallop Oval.
Finally, I used the Modern Label punch and added a crinkled blossom to make the sentiment...  They're popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals.

{Stamp Set Spotlight} Snow Swirled: Day 3

What drew me first to this set was the snowflakes... I love the detail!

This quick and simple card allowed me to haul out some punches, use my Big Shot and use up some scraps. First, let's talk punches. I see five punches that were used; the Scallop Edge Border, 1-3/4" Circle, 1-1/4" Circle, Boho Blossoms, and Scallop Oval Punches.
For my color palette, I consulted my Color Coach and used Marina Mist, Old Olive, Real Red and Bashful Blue.
I also used the Top Note Bigz Die and the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the Bashful Blue piece at the top. Finally, a knot tied in Marina Mist grosgrain (adhered with a Mini Glue Dot) finishes it off!

Soft Summer and Scallops Birthday Card for Dear Sister

This final design for our card making class allowed us to get all of our pent-up scallops out (I CASE'd this; thank you for the inspiration, LeeAnn Graff!). I actually made this for my sister first, then thought the class members would enjoy it, too.

This pretty Soft Summer flower stamp is available until June 30 (it's from the Occasions Mini Catalog).

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamp Sets: Soft Summer and Oval All

Papers: Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Whisper White

Inks: Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, and Basic Black

Accessories: Scallop Edge and Scallop Oval Punches, Stamp-a-Ma-Jig

**The floral image is Two-Step Stamping; using the Stamp-a-Ma-Jig takes the guesswork (and stress!) out of lining up the insides of the flower with the outline. It's also easiest to color the flower with two Stampin' Write Markers, as opposed to using ink pads.**

Finally, when using the Scallop Edge Punch to do an entire side as I have here, punch first in the middle and then work your way out. Whenever I start at the tippy-top or bottom, I end up with a scalloped diagonal because I get off-course. Keeping one "bump" that you've already punched out in your "sites" as you punch helps keep you straight.

Happy Birthday, Mobes! I love you!

Thanks so much for looking!
