Nana’s Hummingbirds

This message comes to you from my mother's kitchen. She's hung a hummingbird feeder out the window by her sink and can watch the antics of the hummers throughout the day. She can tell you when they feed with the most fervor, when they're down for the night and about when they'll migrate for the winter (thus making her very sad). We've got a couple of pushy Rufus hummingbirds, for whom Mom has hung a couple of other feeders (in hopes of keeping them super-busy so that they're not keeping everyone off the kitchen feeder). They're very territorial and will flair their tail feathers to intimidate the other hummers.

This card was made with one of my new favorite sets, Elements of Style (a set that I was just informed is on Mom's Christmas/birthday wish list). I inked the toile in Basic Grey, the flourish in Baja Breeze, and the hummingbird in Early Espresso. The card itself is made with a Crumb Cake body (formerly known as "Kraft"), with Whisper White layered upon Basic Grey card stock. The tab was made using Baja Breeze (and the sentiment was inked in Early Espresso). Remember to stamp your image/sentiment first and then punch to assure proper placement!

Stampin' Up! Supplies:
Stamps: Elements of Style
Papers: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Basic Grey, Whispering White
Inks: Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Basic Grey
Accessories: Round Tab Punch, Baja Breeze ribbon (retired)
I look forward to sharing more with you once I'm back at home (and in the Studio!)!! Thanks for your visit!

Beautiful card Sara! So glad you're back. Your mom sounds like us - we also have several hummingbird feeders (one outside the kitchen window) and love watching them feed, etc. It won't be too much longer though and they'll all go further south.
